A stable kayak, with pronounced rocker, excellent buoyancy and a sufficiently long waterline: The Full House is our answer to the question of what a modern creeker should be like.

Do you want your kayak to be fast, maneuverable, and dynamic on the edge, but also docile, stable, easy to maneuver and surf? And, of course, super light yet indestructible? Then we have to disappoint you. Because as much as we'd love to invent the "all-purpose" kayak, building a boat involves compromises. Somersaults in a sea kayak are as unrealistic as carrying luggage in a play boat. But if you're looking for a whitewater kayak you can rely on when you want to push your limits, or one that makes it easier to get there, the Full House is the perfect choice.

Rocker and waterline

When looking at modern whitewater kayaks, one thing stands out: increasingly extreme rocker. We also wanted to develop a boat that would literally keep you afloat, instead of having to laboriously navigate rocks. The problem: the greater the rocker, the slower and more unstable the kayak. The "length matters" equation doesn't refer to the overall dimensions of the kayak, but rather to its waterline. And this becomes shorter when the keel begins to drop earlier. To achieve a good balance between speed, maneuverability, and rocker, we lengthened the Full-House to a length of 284 cm. This may seem like a lot, but it corresponds to the waterline of a much shorter boat with less rocker. The result is a kayak that allows you to effortlessly navigate turns and rolls, reaching astonishing speeds in whitewater.

platform

The Full House is a boat for challenging whitewater and has ample reserves, even in high water pressure. This requires a stable platform, meaning a certain area of the lower hull that lies more or less flat in the water. An extreme example of capsize stability would be a shoebox with steep 90-degree sides. Unfortunately, such a boat would be unmaneuverable... The 70 cm width allows us to round the sides of the Full House so it is less prone to lateral overturning and can be easily tacked. This way, you maintain your advantage even in complex cataracts with many consecutive maneuvers. The pronounced edges on the lower hull ensure tracking and stability.

volume

Black Jack, Starfire, Queen of Hearts: in the past, we've deliberately developed boats for smaller, lighter paddlers, focusing on the pleasure of dynamic paddling. The Full House follows a different, equally deliberate, concept: with its 360 liters of volume, it floats even in the largest configurations, even with a heavy payload, offering great safety in rapids. The idea isn't new; large-volume kayaks existed 20 years ago. But what distinguishes the Full House from the limited "plugs" seen today from previous years? Despite its generous dimensions, it doesn't feel oversized or slow. The secret lies in the distribution of volume. The overall length of the Full House, mentioned above, gave us the flexibility to design the stern in a modern, uncompromising way. Naturally, it's not "cut off," but narrow enough to place a light weight on the edge, thus lifting the bow even more easily. The balanced tail rocker gives the Full House high jumping ability: after falls and rolls, the tail does not stall, but pushes you forward reliably.

There's no doubt that the Full House is a large boat, not a play boat for extreme maneuvers and technical exercises on light rapids. However, it's not just for older kids. In typical Spade style, the cockpit and knee area are designed to not hinder even the smallest riders while paddling. Because we've long known that whitewater ambitions aren't a matter of gender, age, or testosterone levels ;-)

“If you say A, you have to say B. With the Full House, we’ve given modern rocker design the platform it deserves.”

Conclusion

Whether it’s a multi-day expedition to the edge or a controlled ascent to the next level of whitewater, the Full House is your ace in the hole!
